Shorewood Softball advances to the next level of playoffs:
The Shorewood softball team will play Stanwood on Thursday, May 15 at 3 p.m. at Sky River Park in Monroe.

Congratulations Girls Tennis Players Advance to State Playoffs : Anna Chatillo , Mackenzie Bang and Lisa Hammond who will be going to the state tennis tournament for doubles.

Shorewood advances to boys soccer playoffs

Congrats to the Shorewood boys soccer ! Spring sports playoffs continue this week. The Shorewood varsity boys soccer team defeated Thomas Jefferson (Federal Way) 2-1 in the first round of the 4A state tournament. The T-Birds will next face Beamer (Federal Way) in the state quarterfinals on Saturday, May 17 at 7 p.m. at Shoreline Stadium. Above Shorewood’s Ciaran Regan (2) heads the ball past Snohomish’s Chris Gilbert (left).
The Shorewood varsity boys soccer team clinched the Western Conference South Division title, the school’s first since 1986. See the article that describes last week's exciting win over Snohomish here.
Because this is a state playoff game, the prices jump up.

Three Shorewood School District students have advanced to the National History Day finals as a result of the state competition held recently at the University of Washington.

Shorewood High School student Claire Haynie won first place for individual performance for her presentation on the Mormon Handcart Company; Rachel Haensly won first place for her individual exhibit about the construction of the Alaskan Highway; and Kane Thomas received second place in the Web site category, about the 1994 genocide in Rwanda. They advance to the nationals, to be held in College Park, Md., in June.

Shorewood won the award for top high school in the state as a result of its awards in the senior division.

Placings from Shorewood:
Alex Rattray, third in individual performance.
Marisa Goshorn and Shelby Foote, third in group performance.
Laura Rohrer, fifth place, individual documentary.
Dominique Amor, fifth place, individual exhibit.
Tanis Leonhardi, sixth place, individual exhibit.

Shorewood High School Wins the State Championship!!


The 42 member Shorewood High School Drill Team Washington WON in the 4A State Dance/Drill Championships in Yakima Friday with first place in two categories, both the Pom and the Drill categories.  Sarah Liu from the Shorewood High School Flag Team won First place in the Drilldown Competition!
There were a total of 34 High Schools competing in the 4A competition in 6 categories. Shorewood FLAGS Placed fifth in their competition.

The Symphony Orchestra took 1st Place in its division at the Northwest Orchestra Festival (Mt. Hood CC, Gresham, Oregon) for the second consecutive year!  
The String Quartet (Amy Leang, Calvin Jahng, Julia Hayes, Tobin Schindler) took 2nd Place in the very competitive chamber music division, and the Chamber Ensemble took 3rd Place in the small orchestra division.
The NW Orchestra Festival is the unofficial regional championship, drawing orchestras from British Columbia, Washington, Oregon, Idaho and California.  Congratulations to our orchestra students for their achievements.
