Noteworthy Events and Information:
 KOLUS WON “BEST IN SHOW” IN THE NEWSMAGAZINE CATEGORY BEATING OUT ALL THE OTHER NEWSPAPERS THAT ENTERED FROM ACROSS THE ENTIRE STATE OF WASHINGTON. CONGRATS TO KOLUS EDITORS DEVON GEARY (ed in chief) AND ANDREW TAYLOR (associate ed) AND THE REST OF THE KOLUS STAFF FOR A FANTASTIC JOB AT THE STATE JOURNALISM CONFERENCE ON SATURDAY AT MOUNTLAKE TERRACE HIGH SCHOOL. 
IN ADDITION TO THIS TOP AWARD, KOLUS STUDENTS COMPETED IN ON-THE-SPOT WRITING AND DESIGN CONTESTS IN EIGHT CATEGORIES AND WON AWARDS IN FIVE OF THEM.
THE FOLLOWING STUDENTS WON IN THEIR RESPECTIVE CATEGORIES:
• KATHLEEN POWER, EXCELLENT IN FEATURE WRITING
• PAMELA LONDON, SUPERIOR IN SPORTS FEATURE
• LEAH STOLLER, HONORABLE MENTION, REVIEW WRITING
• IAN FIKE, EXCELLENT, NEWSPAPER LAYOUT
• MELANIE YORDANOV, HONORABLE MENTION, FEATURE PHOTOGRAPHY.

SHOREWOOD ALUMNI BASKETBALL: Please join us at the 2nd annual Shorewood alumni basketball tournament Friday May 21st -23rd, 2010. The tournament is open to all alumni and if you don’t wish to play we would love to have you come out and support us as we raise money for the athletic department. The fee is $35.00 per player for classes 2006-2009 and $45.00 per player for all other classes. You can find team sign up sheets here and each player must sign a waiver. Shorecrest Advanced Video students challenged Shorewood to come up with the best lip-dub music video. We did, then SW Video one students filmed it backwards to make it even cooler. Here is the result...and making National News ___________________________________________________
