The Wizard of Oz

“Follow the yellow brick road! Follow the yellow brick road!” Briarcrest Elementary’s 5th and 6th grade students are doing just that as they perform the story The Wizard of Oz, February 16 and 17. We meet the Munchkins of Munchkinland as well as the citizens of Emerald City. Of course, the Wicked Witch is up to her old tricks with her army of Winged Monkeys. All of our other favorite characters are there as well; Dorothy, the Cowardly Lion, the Tin Man, Scarecrow and others. Every student at Briarcrest was once again involved with some aspect of this production from painting the sets and designing the invitations, to planning the cast’s celebration party. The music is lively and the dancing superb. Enjoy a wonderful voyage, “somewhere over the rainbow”.
