A Year Down Yonder is a great book. It is the book right after Along way from Chicago. This book is mostly about Mary Alice and how she goes back to see her grandma in Illinois without Joey and this time she doesn't go with Joey and Mary Alice is 15 years old. Crazy old grandma Dowdel is still the same and this year she decides to put Mary Alice in school. Mary Alice has some difficulties and meets a bully. I would rate this book a 9 out of 10.

The book I read The Diary of a Wimpy Kid By Jeff Kinney, is a very good book. Some of the book is written in comic form! This book is about a boy named Greg Heffley and his friend, Rowley. The Diary of a Wimpy Kid is basically Greg’s diary. So Greg and Rowley are best friends who just turned into 7th graders. In 7th grade, there are all sorts of dangers like bullies, the wrestling unit in gym, the school play, and the cheese touch. Greg’s parents are sort of strict and always cherish their littlest son, Manny. Greg’s older brother, Rodrick, is in a heavy metal band. His dad hates heavy metal, but his mom’s ALL for it. Greg is just curious to here what heavy metal sounds like when the CD cover has a parental warning on it. While Rodrick is listening to his CD’s or practicing with his band, the loded dipers, HA HA, you’d think he wrote it like that to make the name sound more cool, but if you told him how to really spell loaded diapers, that’s new news for him, Greg kind of rocks to his own beat. If I could rate this book on a scale of 1-5, I’d rate it a 5. I recommend this book to people who love humor.

The Flight of the Dodo is a humorous book about a goose that accidentally poops and stains Penguin’s jacket. His friends come over to help clean the stain and they start talking about flying. They think up tons of ideas such as inflating Kiwi and sitting on fans and other insane things.

After years of slaving away, they finally get a suggestion. A Hot-Air Balloon! They name it the Dodo. They fly up with the geese and Kiwi does the ultimate cannon ball and Cassowary tries fly-fishing. They race the geese and say, “Last one to the big black thing is a flock of geese!” The big black thing was a storm cloud. The geese flew back to the ground and the Dodo’s pilots yelled, “What’s the matter, you scared?” In the end, the geese come and save them from the storm and they teach each other in a classroom. I would recommend this book and give it a 3 out of 5.

The Kid Who Ran For President
is an outstandingly humorous read. Wisecracking Judson Moon and his friend Lane Brainard are playing pool and watching Lane’s favorite show, Meet the Press. Then Lane suggests Judson become President of the United States. Before they know it, they start serious stuff. Judson is on TV, in newspapers and articles. He is running for President with his First Lady (Chelsea Daniels) and his Vice President (June Syers). He says he will abolish homework- if he wins. On Election Day, he wins!!! But then he has second thoughts. I rate this about 3 and a half stars out of five.

The Legend of Spud Murphy by Eoin Colfer takes place in a library. Will and Marty's dad enroll them in the summer reading program at the local library. Will and Marty think Mrs. Murphy, the librarian, is named Spud because they think she uses a spud gun. One day Marty gets bored and causes mischief. He takes off his sweater and glides down the floor on his chest. Next, he takes books from the mystery section and puts them into non-fiction. Mrs. Murphy catches him and stamps his arm with a stamp that says. “I love Barbie.” He's shocked that she would do such a thing. Will read a book called “Finn McCool” and becomes so interested that he wants to keep on reading. They finally think they run out of interesting books to read. You'll have to get this book to read more about Marty and Will's adventures in the summer reading program. It's filled with laughs and teaches you that libraries can be fun.

George Speaks is a very humorous book. One of the reasons I liked the book so much is it has challenging words like ventriloquist. The author of the book creates a 6 week old baby who talks like a college student. This baby is really funny, especially when he speaks to his parents. Another reason I like this book is that all the relatives don't know about George and how he is very, very, smart. George Speaks is an excellent book and I would love reading it again, and highly recommend this book.

In this humorous book called Bunnicula by Debra and James Howe, a cat named Chester thinks a new part of the family (Bunnicula the bunny) is a vampire! But the dog named Harold doesn’t think so. If you read this book I think you will laugh at the silly things that Chester does to prevent Bunnicula from getting close to him like wearing garlic around his neck. Read this book and figure out if Bunnicula really is a vampire. I would rate this book 4 out of 5. Stephanie Rm. 23

The Homework Machine is a historical laugh out loud book. There's a unlikely foursome made up of a geek a class, a teacher's pet, and a slacker- Brenton, Sam "Snik", Judy, and Kelsey. This is about four kids the so called geek has a machine that he made not like any normal machine but it's cool. Everyday after school him and his friends go over to his house to use the machine. The machine does there homework. They all just hang out and talk and do weird stuff like all kids do. They are getting weird messages from a shady guy named Milner; their teacher, Miss Rasmussen, Is calling private meetings with each of them and giving thim pop test that they are failing because if the geeks machine is functioning right. And someone has told the school newspaper about the homework machine. just when the D Squad thinks things can't get anymore out of control, Belch becomes so much more powerful than they ever imagined. Soon the kids are in a race against their creation, and the loser can maybe go to jail... or worse. On a scale from 1-5 I would give it a 4.
