SKELETON MAN, the book I love. It is by JOSPH BRUCHAC. The book is about a man and a girl named Molly. One day Molly's parents go out to dinner. But when Molly wakes up next morning, her parents were gone. Molly was really frightened. Then, this man who Molly calls Skeleton Man shows up and pretends to be Molly's great-uncle. Then Molly has these weird dreams about a rabbit that tells her that her parents are buried but they're not dead. So, Molly is really confused and horrified. And now, Molly’s scary dream is coming true. Also, the Skeleton Man is trying to fatten up Molly. Why is Skeleton Man trying to fatten up Molly? Where are Molly’s parents? And what did Skeleton man do? What would he do? The book is freaky, the legend is chilling and it builds terror and horror on every page. It will give YOU nightmares! I rate this book a 5.

The book I REALLY love is called NIGHTMARE MOUNTAIN! The book is by PEG KEHRET, one of my FAVORITE authors. It is about a girl named Molly that has to stay with her Aunt Karen. Molly Neuman’s vacation on her aunt and uncle’s llama ranch in the wilderness of Washington becomes a nightmare! She has a cousin named Glendon that hates her on sight! Then suddenly, Aunt Karen falls ill. Aunt Karen has to be taken to the hospital and Uncle Phil goes with her. Now Molly and Glendon are alone when Molly finds out that there is a llama thief in the barn! The next day, Molly finds out that Merrylegs (a llama who’s about to have babies) is missing! She goes up a mountain and she sees that the llama thief is there and that he’s stealing more llamas! Molly runs back to tell Glendon but she gets caught and the thief drags them to the top of the mountain. And he triggers an avalanche with a gunshot he tried to shoot at Glendon when he tried to escape. The thief jumps into the car and escapes the avalanche and Molly and Glendon are left to battle a tidal wave of snow. Then Glendon screams and disappears. Now it’s up to Molly to find him and save them both from being buried alive. I rate this book a 5. The lexile level is 700.

What I liked about THE GHOST’S GRAVE are the chaotic characters like Josh’s aunt, Aunt Ethel. Does your aunt have a shotgun in the bedroom and use it in the house?!! If you like explosions, you’ll like the beginning. The title may make this book sound like a horror book, but it isn’t. The story is written in a great style. A shocking beginning, peaceful middle, and dramatic ending all put together make this story astounding . The setting is a farm with no one nearby. It seems like Josh does not relate well to his aunt in the beginning, but later on they appreciate each other more. I recommend this book to people who like the outdoors, excitement and animals.

THE WITCHES OF WORM, by Zilpha Keatley Snyder. This book is by far the best book I’ve ever read. I love this book because it’s about a troubled twelve year old girl named Jessica who lives in an apartment building. Unfortunately she doesn’t have any friends and her mother is always at work or on a date. Jessica is usually alone but loves to read. One day, after a fight with her mother, she goes to a secret cave in the backyard and reads until there’s no longer enough light to see the letters on the page. As she gets ready to leave, she hears a noise at the back of the cave and she hurries toward it...what she finds will change her life forever. If you want to find out what happens, make sure to check out this book and you won’t be able to put it down! This is the perfect book for anyone who loves drama, witches and demons. I rate this book a big-huge 5! Trust me, you’ll love this book!!!

Bunnicula
By Deborah and James Howe
Even though it scares me a little that the rabbit does weird things, I still like the mystery book Bunnicula. The protagonists are a dog [Harold] and a cat [Chester]. Their owners got a new pet, a rabbit. Chester is convinced that the rabbit is a vampire, because of all the white vegetables found in the kitchen. (They think he sucked out their juices!) Though Harold is not completely convinced, he does believe a little from all the vampire books Chester reads. I’d recommend this to people who like mysteries. I’d give this a 4 out of 5 rating.

The book I read is called The Case of the Marshmallow Monster. It is a fiction book. The book was written by James Preller. Jigsaw is the main character. Jigsaw is excited about a camping trip with his friends. No school. No detective work. But a full moon and a campfire story about a lake creature get Jigsaw back to business. Danika is sure a Marshmallow Monster is haunting the lake. Jigsaw and Mila scope out the area and wait to find out the real story of the Marshmallow Monster. The part when Stringbean got trapped in the tent and talks about the bad things he hates like bees, thunder, horses, lightning ,and heights. That one is my favorite it remind me my niece that I only saw when she was four years old because she doesn't like these thinks. I also like this book because one day wish I was camping with my family and friend too. The must exciting part is when he find out that there were no Marshmallow Monster. I wish my life was like the book. If was a detective I need to be a thinker like Jigsaw. The book showed me to read and to write a story about solving a mystery.
Sincerely,
Rahel, RM 22
