Each year around New Year's, Brookside begins running it's salmon tank in order to stock Brookside Creek which runs around the perimeter of our school.
This webpage chronicles events from hatch to release.
We are fortunate this year to have community support from the Lake Forest Park Stewardship Foundation.
Salmon eggs are picked up from the Issaquah hatchery in early January 2003. |
Our Coho came from Issaquah Creek. |
The eggs are carefully counted before they can leave the hatchery. |
Special signs mark important creek and stream in the Lake Washington watershed. |
In a few days (January 6), the eggs have hatched into alevin. |
