I am the Office Manager at Brookside Elementary School where I have worked since 1993. I also worked at the "Old Brookside" as a part time secretary from 1989-91. Prior to coming to Brookside, I was employed for several years at the British Consulate in Seattle, as a trade secretary/receptionist and sold life insurance for a national company !! However, I really enjoy this job the most as Brookside is a great place to be - we have a great staff, kids and parents!
I was born in Sydney, Australia and came to the United States in 1972. In September, 1994, I became a US citizen which was a very important day in my life. I am proud to be an American but will always have my Aussie roots close to my heart. My husband, Fred and I have been married since 1979 and have lived all that time in Shoreline. However, our favorite "home-away-from-home" is our house on Hood Canal where we enjoy boating and crabbing in the summer months and the serenity and relaxation it offers during the winter. We love to share our little bit of paradise with friends and family and have had many memorable days there on our deck, enjoying oysters off our beach, crab from the canal and some glorious sunsets! We also enjoy travel to Arizona for sun breaks and trips to Australia to see family. Although we don't have Husky season tickets now, we still follow Husky football along with the Seahawks and Mariners.
Our daughter, Heather, a Shorewood grad, recently graduated with her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre from Boston University. She is currently living in Brooklyn, New York and pursuing an acting career. She misses the green Northwest, the mountains and their beauty - she will always call Seattle home !
