Mr. Rodgers

Mr. Rodgers is originally from Corvallis, Oregon. During high school he worked in an auto parts store and then went to work at Boeing to save money for college. He earned a bachelor's degree from Western Washington University in 1988. During college he worked in bookstores (of course) and drove a forklift on the fishing docks in Bellingham. He earned a master's degree in Educational Technology from Lesley College in Cambridge, Massechusetts. He has been teaching in Shoreline since 1990. First in sixth grade and later in the LRC.

He enjoys time spent with his son and his dogs, Skipper and Scout (they love to hunt anything together). He is a pretty good cook, but only because it won't get done if he doesn't do it! He works on his house quite a bit because he likes old houses and of course, he loves to spend time reading a good book!

Among his favorite movies are: 2001: A Space Oddessy, Bladerunner, The Last of the Mohicans, and of course, My Dog Skip.

Favorite books include: Treasure Island, The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, Redwall, To Kill a Mockingbird, and Neuromancer.

He has a son in high school, two Jack Russell Terriers named Scout and Skipper as well as a cat named Jambo. His mom, sister and brother live close by with their families.

Thoughts on teaching: Can't imagine doing anything else!

Mr. Rodgers' mom is one of his favorite people.
Crossruff Scout and Crossruff Skipper are Jack Russell terriers from Crossruff Kennel.
