Play Group Today 10/22

We will plan on hosting the playgroup today from 10-12 at Meridian Park School. If it is raining, kids can play in the gym. If the weather is ok, kids can play on the “big kid” playground at the back of the school. It could also be a combination of both of these play areas.

Please park in front of the school and walk around to the back. Sarah and Erin will have the back, little gym doors unlocked. No other building doors will be unlocked.

Please remember this is a time to play with your kids, their friends and families. Although Erin and Sarah will be there, you are responsible in supervising all of your children. We appreciate you keeping phones put away during playgroup time.

Sarah Soroos: Meridian Park Outstanding Educator of the Year

Sarah Soroos was named Meridian Park Outstanding Educator of the Year for the 2010/11 school year! Congratulations, Sarah! Listed below are the celebratory words shared by those who know her:

From a Staff Member in her class: She teaches her students with an endless supply of patience, dedication and compassion. She is a leader who guides with understanding and unwavering support. And her kindness, thoughtfulness and winning smile is why we all love her so much.

From a Parent: We feel so lucky to have Sarah as our daughter’s first teacher. We are constantly impressed with her energy, patience and caring. She really seems to know and connect with each child in her class (and those not in her class-our daughter who is not in her class adores her as well). Many congratulations and thanks to Sarah!!!!

From another Parent: Sarah has the ability to see each child’s unique personality and is able to bring out the best in each one. She is incredibly positive! Our son is timid in a group atmosphere, but Sarah makes him feel as if he’s the only one in the classroom. Sarah’s room is full of singing, giggling, and creativity – our son can’t wait to get there! Not only does she care for our son, she also gets to know his siblings as well and make’s them all feel special. She is amazing!

From a fellow teacher: Sarah is a gifted early childhood teacher. Over the years she has developed strong relationships with students, families and coworkers.  Sarah is creative both artistically and conceptually. Hanging in her classroom are artifacts of her students work; a collection of paintings, photos, and collage artfully communicate the work that Sarah puts in to preparing for classroom projects. She collaborates with team members to create an enriching environment for her students and is always working long and hard to provide a quality, well-rounded preschool experience. Her coworkers could not be happier for her as she is a well-deserving recipient of this award!

From a student: She’s silly!
