The WASL is a state-mandated test that assesses a student's knowledge on a subject compared to what is considered mastery of the subject.

The ITBS is a nationally-normed, standardized achievement test. The results show how student achievement levels in our district compare with others in the state and the nation.

In addition, Shoreline is a standards-referenced district with grade level standards established by the District for schools to use in grading and reporting. Grading patterns are generally parallel to test results.
