Wang Yani: A Young Chinese Artist

Interesting Facts:

One painting that Wang Yani did when she was four was reproduced on a postage stamp in China. This painting, which showed a baby monkey and its mother was called Scratching an Itch for Mother.

Yani's father, Wang Shiqiang, a successful artist himself, stopped painting when Yani was eight years old. He did not want his own style of painting to stifle Yani's creativity.

Traditional Chinese painting often include an inscription. The inscription is writing that may give the title of the painting, describe the feeling of the artist, or explain the paintings.
