Interesting Facts:All mammals have fur or hair sometime during their lives. The hair acts as insulation. Birds have two types of feathers. Contour feathers, found on the wings and other body parts, are used in flight. Down feathers, usually found on a bird's breast, act as insulation. When the temperature rises, are that is trapped in a bird's feathers keep the bird cool. |
