Becoming principal of Kellogg Middle School in 2001 marks the highlight of my administrative career, following three years as assistant principal at Inglewood Junior High School and four years as associate principal at Juanita High School in the Lake Washington School District. The Shoreline School District is committed to educating each child and supports principals and staff in providing the very best opportunity for each student to learn and grow. I am excited to be part of the Shoreline administrative team.
Prior to becoming an administrator I taught high school biology and chemistry for seven years following ten years as a research biologist working in both private and industrial settings.
Raised in a suburb of Philadelphia, I attended excellent public schools for grades K-12. At the university level, I graduated from the University of Maine with a Bachelors of Science in Biology and Secondary Education in 1978. In 1986, I completed a Masters of Science in Biology from Old Dominion University and most recently, completed my Principals Credentials at Seattle Pacific University in 1994.
On a personal level, I share my passion for education with my husband who is a principal in the Everett School District. We have four grown children three currently in college. As parents we have experienced the joy of raising children with diverse learning styles and varied interests. Sharing in their lives has been the greatest joy of my life. As a family we enjoy the beautiful Northwest from the ski slopes to the water, continuing to marvel at the beauty this area has to offer.
My passion for the education of young people is shared by the outstanding staff of Kellogg Middle School. Together we partner actively with the community at large to provide an engaging learning environment to meet the needs of our diverse student body. We invite you to visit Kellogg Middle School and participate in the education of our fine student body.
