Sixth Grade Supplies

2009-2010

Lake Forest Park Elementary School has a program for helping children organize time and materials.  The program begins in Kindergarten where children learn a system for getting papers to and from school.  In grades three through six, children use a 3-ring notebook, which must go home every night.  The school provides notebook dividers and a monthly assignment calendar.

An important component of the program is having the materials for learning in the right place at the right time.  We ask parents to supplement the supplies provided by the school.  If the expense is a burden to you, please contact your child's teacher or the principal for other arrangements.  Parents can help their children by providing these tools for learning.

• 1 binder - 1-1/2" binder with 3 metal rings

• plastic or fabric pencil pouch, 3 hole, zippered (no pencil boxes)

• 1 pkg (200 sheets) white notebook paper, 3-hole punched, college ruled

• 3 separate spiral notebooks - 8 1/2 x 11", 70 sheet minimum, college ruled

• 3 boxes (of 12) No. 2 Dixon Ticonderoga pencils

• 1 Kleenex box

• 1 ruler (metric and inches, 12"- please label)

• 2 red ball point pens

*Band and Orchestra students will also need one 1-1/2” 3 ring binder and 2 pencils to be kept in instrument case.

Please check all materials frequently, at least monthly, and replace as needed.  Pencils, pens and paper must be replaced frequently.  Please label all material and clothing.
