Kindergarten and First Grade at LFP

 

K-1 students at LFP enjoy an exciting and well-balanced curriculum.  Academic emphasis is placed on increasing emergent Reading, Writing and Math skills.  Learning positive social interaction skills is another point of focus for our young learners.

Other subject areas which are often integrated with the basic skills include Spelling, Science, Social Studies, Health, Music, Physical Education and Art.  Specific units in Science use hands-on materials to teach the scientific process and include Trees, Wood, Paper, Fabric, Animals, Plants, Solids and Liquids, and Air and Weather.  Specific units in Social Studies are designed to enhance each child's understanding of the world around us and include the study of Families Around the World, Neighborhood, and Maps and Globes.  In all areas of study, developing positive self-esteem as a life-long learner is a very important goal for each child at LFP.
