Six Traits Writing Program

Lake Forest Park has adopted the Six Traits Analytical Writing Assessment Model to help students take an active role in assessing their writing progress.  The traits include:  Ideas, Organization, Voice, Word Choice, Sentence Fluency, and Conventions.  These traits are taught to the children, and self-evaluation becomes part of the program as students develop rubrics to assess their work and increase their expertise in all forms of writing.  The writing process is emphasized, along with ongoing student evaluations based upon the traits listed above.
