Below are the items required to be in your Final Product Notebook. Please do not let this list limit you. You may add anything to your notebook that you are proud of. What is listed below MUST be included but you may add more if you wish.

Make sure and check off the boxes as you get the sections completed.

Proposal

The Senior Project Coordinator has your proposals. They will be brought to your Senior Connections class for you or you may come into the Senior Project office and get it when you are ready.

The proposal that goes in the notebook is the one that we have been working on all year. The one that has been edited, has things crossed out, things written in, and things highlighted.

If you want to, you can print out a fresh, clean copy. HOWEVER, the original proposal will still be included. It is not necessary to print a new one but you can if you want to.

Teacher Product Evaluation Sheet

download

This goes in your notebook blank. Your Senior Connections teacher will fill this out as the notebook and final product are looked at.

Please take a minute or two to read over what will be evaluated. This is available for you on purpose so that you know exactly what you need to do to get a good grade.

Self Evaluation

download pdf or Word document Read the directions carefully.

Answer questions 1 – 7 in complete sentences. Write 3 sentences with 2 specific examples for each question.

Choose one of the categories based on your topic. Answer the two questions for that category. They will be numbered 8 and 9.

Mentor Product Evaluation Sheet

download

This needs to be filled out by your mentor and turned in with the notebook.

This can be completed as soon as your final product is complete. If you finish your final product in January then have your mentor fill this out in January.

Give your mentor at least a few days to get this completed.

Make sure that your mentor signs it.

Evidence

In your proposal you listed evidence that you would provide to prove that you did your final product. What you listed on your proposal is included in this section.

This could be pictures, journals, rough drafts, audiotapes of musical practices, receipts, etc.

What you listed in your proposal MUST be included. Anything in addition to that can be included (and is encouraged). So, if as you are working on your project you find things that could be evidence, include them in your notebook.

If you have evidence that may not fit directly in the notebook it is very important that it is labeled with your name, Senior Connections teacher and period. You will also need to put a piece of paper in your notebook that tells your Senior Connections teacher that there is evidence outside of the notebook.

Organization of Notebook

All requirements are listed on the Teacher Product Evaluation sheet. This is exactly what your Connections teacher will use to grade your notebook.

The sections need to be separated with dividers and all required elements must be included.

Well planned, creative, colorful, appropriate size & neat lettering for labeling.

Information needs to be organized chronologically. For example, your pictures are organized from beginning to end, your receipts are in order, etc. It is not just a bunch of pictures thrown in a notebook.

Everything needs to be labeled. This is very important for clarity! Remember, your notebook tells the story of your project.

The notebook should look professional. Free of errors, typos, etc. Don’t just spell check but PROOFREAD! Use your eyeballs. Seriously.

Final Product

Final products are due with this notebook!

This is the secondary research paper, kayak, novella, video, painting, notebook of plans etc. that you stated as your final product in your proposal.

The only final products that do not need to be brought to school on this day are things that are literally attached to the earth. Examples: if you built a deck, completed a landscaping project, rebuilt a roof, etc.

In this case the person should have extensive pictures and/or video of the final product. You may need to make arrangements individually with your Senior Connections teacher to come and view your newly landscaped yard, the gazebo you built, etc.
