Every other year, Shorecrest's Pipe Band and Highland Dancers present their "Medieval Banquet." An evening of traditional Scottish entertainment and 'medieval' style food.

The hearty menu consists of meaty ribs, thick barley soup, whole grain peasant bread and salad. Our medieval style salad is actually just some raw veggies piled in the center of the table. Haggis, the traditional Scottish delecacy, is an optional bonus. No eating utensiles are provided, only a towel. You will no doubt need it.

Entertainment is provided by Shorecrest's Pipe Band and Highland Dancers, with special guest performers rounding out the program. Both solo and ensemble performances are featured and you never know what sort of surprises are in store.

Honored guests and nobles are seated at the head table and preside over the evening. All guests are encouraged to dress in medieval or Scottish costume and, keeping with the medieval theme, must sing for use of the communal bowl of salt kept at the head table.

The banquet is our main fundraiser and is always a crowd-pleaser and community favorite. To offset expenses and provide some variety, we alternate yearly between the Highland Arts Concert and the Medieval Banquet.

Community involvement is essential and we have always made a great effort to involve and cater to our local Shoreline and Seattle supporters. Advertising space is available for sale in our banquet program and donations or sponsorships are indeed welcome.

We look forward to seeing you and your family at our next Medieval Banquet. Be sure to check back for updates!
