Clubs or Starting a club

Getting Involved

Find a list of clubs at Shorewood.

Starting a Club

1. Find an Advisor (a staff member willing to attend your meetings and advise your club)

2. Click here to download the appropriate forms: Form 1, Form 2.

3. New Club Criteria Information.

4. Turn in the forms to Room 109 or the SAC office.

5. ASB (the Leadership Class) will vote on the formation of your club.

6. Your club will be told yea or nea.

7. Clubs may have the ability to fundraise if their club was in existence the previous school year. Clubs that meet this requirement, your advisor will need to talk to Mrs. Nolan in the business office to receive instructions. Clubs need to show that they are a stable club, thus the year rule, in order to start an ASB account because a lot of paperwork goes to setting up an ASB account.

8. Clubs can be placed into the annual if their club was in existence the previous school year. Club layouts in the annual are set very early in the school year, due to deadlines only clubs that have official status from the previous year will be shown in the annual or possibly the very beginning of the year depending on space.

Dance Guest Passes

Guest passes are due by the end of lunch the day before the dance, however, for the Homecoming Dance (because of the volume of guest passes) guest passes are due Friday Oct. 16th which is the week before Homecoming week. Print off the above file and turn in the filled out copy to the activities office or room 605. This form requires a parent signature and guest's school admin signature, so plan ahead.

As always, for all dances don't forget to bring your picture ID.

Any Other Miscellaneous FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions - Got anther Question?

Q: Lost ASB Cards or never got an ASB Card, where do I go?

A: Go to Mr. Mike Sherry in the Security Office located in the cafeteria and he can get you a new one on the spot. Replacements will cost you $5.

Q: Never got my school picture or dance picture, what do I do?

A: Go to Mrs. Gorman or Mr. Villanueva in the ASB Office located in the SAC. If you missed both the school picture day and the re-take day, then go Mr. Mike Sherry in the Security Office. Dance pictures are USUALLY available the Thursday following the dance. Listen to the announcements to find out if they've arrived. If you never picked up a dance picture then come to the ASB Office in the SAC.

Q: My club, class, group, or organization needs to reserve the building or part of the building to use for a meeting, where do I go?

A: Go to the ASB Office to check the building use calendar. If you are a club or staff member you just need to sign-up. If you are a community member, you will need to fill out a form that is located in the ASB Office - we need you to fill out the form in person to talk to you face to face. Email Vicki Gorman if you need more details.

Q: I've got a question about my laptop, who do I ask?

A: Go to triage and treatment room located in the room 308.

Q: My club or group needs a microphone to use for our meeting, where do I get one?

A: Go to the ASB Office and talk to Mrs. Gorman or Mr. Villanueva. Email in advance if you have an event that needs a microphone.

Q: I want a SW PRIDE t-shirt, where do I go?

A: Go to room 109 to ask Mr. Villanueva. Royal Blue or Kelly Green SW Pride Shirts cost $10 and tie dyed cost $15. Sizes are limited at times. If this is for the Homecoming Assembly, make sure you buy your shirt the week before Homecoming week because it gets very hecktic in the ASB Office and in room 109 during HC week. Thanks!!

Q: The machine ate my money, how do I get my money back?

A: Go to the ASB Office located in the SAC and sign the piece of paper that is taped to the Office door. You'll need to supply the date, which machine, and the location of the machine.

Q: I've got a question that is not located here, where do I go or who do I ask?

A: Go to the ASB Office to ask Mrs. Gorman or room 109 to ask Mr. Villanueva or email them. Thanks!
