Bill Dunbar:

I was appointed Principal at Shorewood High School as of July 2007. I joined Shoreline Public Schools in 2001 as Assistant Principal at Einstein Middle School, and I became Principal at Einstein in October, 2002. I am a native of Connecticut and a resident in Washington since 1993. I began teaching in 1986 and I have taught English and social studies to grades 6-12 including electives in literature, American Studies, Latin American studies and technology. My previous administrative assignments have included middle school athletic director, assistant college counselor and principal. My background includes private, public and international school settings.

  • Danforth Educational Leadership Program. University of Washington, Seattle, Washington. Administrative Certification, June 2001.
  • Master in Teaching, Seattle University, Seattle, Washington. Awarded June 1995.
  • Bachelor of Arts, The University of Vermont, Burlington, Vermont. Awarded June 1986. Major: English. Related field designations in political science, Spanish, and art.
  • Washington State Continuing Teaching Certificate, Grades 4-12. Endorsements: English, language arts, Spanish, political science in 1999.
  • Outdoor Leadership Instructor. National Outdoor Leadership School, Lander, Wyoming (NOLS). 1991
  • Second Language Proficiency: Spanish.

Outside of school my interests include family time, reading, sailing, hiking, and other outdoor sports.
