New Club Criteria
It
is the philosophy of the ASB to give students the ability to meet as groups
with adult supervision, though it is feasible to have group meetings without
being sanctioned by the ASB.
For
these groups to gain an official ASB club status it is important that the
following specific criteria are met.
The
basic reasons to have official status are:
*the
ability to have a fundraising capacity
*the purpose of meeting in a common interest
*the
capacity to accommodate a group activity, or a service to our school or community.
*clubs
exist for non-athletic purposes
Other
considerations that need to be addressed are the number of students involved,
and what is the potential club going to accomplish for our school and or community.
Lastly due to the liability concern the ASB cabinet needs to exclude any organized body who could place our students at risk. These sports and athletic venues need to be addressed within the WIAA format. Therefore clubs which are athletic in nature will not be considered as an ASB sanctioned body.
