SHOREWOOD HIGH SCHOOL

PROCEDURES FOR POSTING SIGNS

Signs posted on windows, lockers, brick wall, etc., create a major clean-up problem for custodial staff. Because the outdoor campus at Shorewood is so difficult to keep litter free

THE FOLLOWING PROCEDURES WILL BE USED WHEN POSTING SIGNS:

1. All signs will be approved by Mrs. Gorman or Mr. Villanueva before being posted. Approval of the sign will be indicated by initials in the lower right-hand corner. (Approval is needed before photocopying.)

2. Signs may be posted on the entry/exit doors to buildings, on the cork strips in hallways, in the cafeteria, and in the student center. No signs may be posted outside the black gates.

3. Those responsible for putting up the signs will be responsible for taking the signs down at the appropriate time (including tape and/or staples). Future sign approval will be affected by how well your group follows through on helping to accept responsibility for their signs.

4. One large poster is the maximum allowed for each election candidate. Other groups are encouraged to make a minimum number of signs and to place them in key areas where they will have the greatest visibility.

5. All posters will be reviewed for content and appearance.

6. Signs cannot be placed on painted surfaces unless you use painter's tape.

Any signs that are posted without being approved and initialed will be removed, and the advisor/teacher will be contacted to ensure that the group responsible for their posting will remove any remaining signs.
