Speech Rules and Guidelines

Speeches will:


1. be in good taste

2. include no profanity

3. include no sexual innuendoes or vulgarities (such as body fluid inferences)

4. speeches should address the candidate’s qualifications.........NOT any negative reference about other people or our school culture.

5. senator and sr. class officer speeches can be
no longer than 1 minute in length, ASB
candidates speeches can be no longer than 90
seconds.

The candidate:
1. can use no props or costumes

2. can use background music (but no dancing)

3. must present their speech with no supporting cast.

4. can not play musical instruments



**Candidates are to bring two printed copies of their speech to the preview meeting with their class advisors and panel. One copy will remain with the panel. No text changes can be made following the previewing.

Poster Rules and Guidelines
(due to time frames for Freshman Elections, no posters will be allowed.)

Posters will:


1. be in good taste

2. include no profanity

3. include no sexual innuendoes or vulgarities (such as body fluid inferences)

4. posters should address the candidate’s qualifications.........NOT any negative reference about other people or our school culture.

5. posters can be no larger than 3ft by 5ft.

6. only 1 poster is allowed and can be hung across from the student store or in SAC or 100’s building foyer or in the tunnel.
